Patent Prosecution Paralegal

- 3 - 4+ years of experience in patent prosecution paralegal support
- Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate required, certificate from an ABA-approved program preferred.
The ideal candidate will have 3 - 4+ years of experience in patent prosecution paralegal support within a professional environment, law firm and/or other professional services firm; experience with Biotechnology, Chemistry or Electrical patents a plus. Must have strong organizational skills, ability to work independently and prioritize work effectively. Strong communication skills are essential, as you will communicate with attorneys and clients. Good attention to detail, problem solving, editing and proofreading abilities are also key. Knowledge of MS Word, Windows and MS Outlook is essential. Must satisfy requirements of California Business & Professions Code 6450 et seq.
Some of the duties include
- provide support to attorneys in all phases of U.S. patent prosecution
- manage selected docket items, drafting correspondence and prosecution documents
- prepare status reports
- conduct electronic patent searches
- esearch technical references, patents and legal issues
